A Learning Environment That Grows With Your Child
One of the things that makes Lighthouse unique is that we support children through every stage of early development and beyond. From infants to pre-K and school-age care, our programs are designed to meet children where they are and help them grow with confidence.
Our hands-on, center-based learning approach focuses on the whole child. Age-appropriate activities build academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth while encouraging curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. Children explore art, sensory activities, reading, early literacy, music, movement, dramatic play, blocks, math, problem-solving, science, writing, and fine motor skills.
Children also have access to a gym and playgrounds, where they develop coordination, large motor skills, social skills, and confidence through both guided and free play. These spaces give children room to move, explore, create, and learn in a safe and engaging environment.
Flexible Programs, Strong Foundations
The Lighthouse School is a safe, nurturing environment where children from 6 weeks to 12 years old can grow, learn, and thrive. We are a year-round program offering flexible options to meet the needs of every family. Our programs combine hands-on learning, guided play, and age-appropriate activities that build curiosity and independence. They also help prepare children for school and beyond.
Our programs include:
- Full-time care
- Part-time care (2 or 3 days a week)
- Before and after school care for school-age children
- Summer camps during June and July

Individualized Support
School readiness starts early with strong, age-appropriate learning built around how young children learn best. We use a trusted curriculum, along with hands-on lessons and individualized monthly assessments, to support each child’s growth and progress.

Updated Technology
Our technology helps parents stay connected and informed throughout the day. The Procare App and My Procare portal give families easy access to check-in, updates, messaging, events, billing, records, and more.

Partnership With Parents
We believe the best outcomes happen when parents and teachers work together, so family communication is a core part of our program. Daily reports, newsletters, conferences, and an open-door policy keep parents connected about their child’s activities.

Safety and Structure
Safety is just as important as academics, so we create a structured, respectful environment for every child. With surveillance cameras, strict pickup procedures, and clear policies, families can have peace of mind.
Common Questions
How are children placed in classes?
Children are grouped based on age, developmental needs, and state-mandated student-teacher ratios. Placement also considers input from previous teachers, parents, and, if needed, outside professionals to ensure the environment supports each child’s growth. This approach helps children stay challenged while feeling comfortable with peers at similar developmental levels. Class assignments may be adjusted during the summer or school year based on enrollment and classroom needs.
How does Lighthouse School assess my child’s growth?
We use formal, age-appropriate assessments to track each child’s progress and guide instruction. Infants and toddlers are assessed monthly using the Frog Street checklist, while pre-K students use the CIRCLE Progress Monitoring System. These assessments help teachers identify strengths, set goals, and plan activities to meet each child’s individual needs. Families receive feedback during conferences and can request updates anytime.
What’s a day like at Lighthouse School?
A typical day at The Lighthouse School balances learning, play, and rest. Children take part in hands-on activities like art, reading, music, science, and dramatic play. They also enjoy outdoor time in the gym and playground to build physical and social skills. Meals, snacks, and quiet or rest periods are included to keep children energized and ready to learn.
What resources are available to parents?
The Lighthouse School offers a variety of resources to support families in understanding child development. Our parent resource room includes books, articles, and information on health, nutrition, oral care, and screen time. We also provide annual free hearing and vision screenings for children. Families can use these resources to enhance learning at home and stay informed about their child’s overall growth.
How does the Procare app help parents stay connected?
The Procare App or MyProcare portal allows parents to check in and out of their child, receive daily updates, view messages from teachers, and see upcoming events. Parents can also access billing information, account statements, and immunization records directly through the app. This technology makes it easy to stay informed about your child’s day, progress, and school activities in real time. It also helps teachers and staff communicate efficiently with families.
